Assistant Professor Narumon TANGTHIRASUNUN is a lecture at Department of Biology, School of Science, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), Thailand. I received a bachelor’s and master’s degree in biotechnology from KMITL in 2007 and 2010, respectively. Subsequently, I was awarded the Franco-Thai Scholarship Program, French embassy (Thailand) for doctoral studies. I graduated with a doctorate degree in prokaryote and eukaryote microbiology (Paris Diderot University-Paris 7 (Now: Université Paris Cité), France) in 2014. Following my doctoral graduate, I obtained a Franco-Thai Young Talent Research Fellowship Program for postdoctoral researcher (June 2015-January 2016) at Paris Diderot University-Paris 7. My areas of expertise include fungi (screening and isolation, taxonomy by classical and modern classification of filamentous fungus and mushroom, culture, and preservation), molecular biology techniques (DNA marker, gene deletion, etc.), bioinformatics, its application, and to a lesser extent, plant biology (tissue culture and molecular techniques). My research findings have been published in journals such as Mycobiology, Biomass Conversion and Biorefinery, Journal of Fungi, Biotechnology Advances, Fungal Diversity, Applied and Environmental Microbiology.
